Best Earphones For Your iPod or MP3 Player! I am testing the Shure SE530, the sennheiser ie8, and the Denon c-751. They are all roughly the same price, but the one that really stood out to me was the sennheiser ie8, they just sound the best, well designed, and good sound isolation. The shure’s were good, but not as good as the Sennheiser’s were. The Denon c-751 was luke-warm, they didn’t sound very good to be honest, although, the fit was nice, and sound isolation wasn’t to bad.
The scores were:
Shure SE530 PTH = 7/10
Denon c-751 = 6/10
Sennheiser ie8 = 9/10

Hi, ok, the sound …
Hi, ok, the sound of the ie8’s is fantastic, the soundstage is great, it is very immersive, bass is punchy and price, mids are warm, and highs are clear, but can be a bit harsh. To be honest, the difference would not be huge, the more you spend, the differences become smaller! These would stay in your ear fine when running, although, they may not be good running earphones as they block all the sound around you, so be careful for cars! If you run on a treadmill, it is fine!

i mean like this …
i mean like this vid would have to be very picky about certain attributes of each earphone.
but.. ive got a set of Sennheiser CX300’s. their nice, fit well, stay in the ear when im running, gym etc and mids ok, bass pretty good.
my question: if i went for a set of shure se430 or senn i8’s how much better are they over senn CX300’s? would they stay in my ear running (im pretty intense at running) and how mind blowing are we talking?
i love hip-hop, classic metal n rock.

Shure is better all …
Shure is better all the way, for under $200? hmmm I would say get the Etymotic ER4P (great treble) or the Ultimate Ears Super fi.5 PRO (good treble & Bass). The Shure E4C are great and under $200 on ebay, also I think the Shure SE420 on ebay can be had for under $200. I would get the SE420’s or Etymotic ER4P’s out of all those if I had the choice.

I have not listened …
I have not listened to them yet, although, they did a poll, and 37% chose the Westone 3 and 63% chose the ie8. After reading a lot of forums, I believe that the ie8’s have better bass performance, while the highs and midrange are better on the Westone 3. You will be happy with any earphone you choose

The best in the …
The best in the world are probably the Sennheiser HD 800 which are £1000, once you bought that, you will need a good headphone amp which will cost £600, then a good CD player which will be £2,000. So in total, for everything, it would be £3,600. Although that sounds a lot, you would have to spend about £20,000 to get the same sound quality from normal speakers.
